The University of Southampton approached Design Engine to redesign their Sports Complex reception area in 2007. Central to this space was a new reception station, acting as the security line, welcome and information point and administrative heart of the centre. The project was built over the summer months of 2008 as a fast-track fit-out and has been very well received by University staff and students alike. The desk is fabricated in Corian, and resonates in its sinuous form with the pool seen through the reception area glass screen beyond.
