James Altham \ Architect
James joined the Design Engine team in 2015, after studying at the University of Portsmouth and Oxford Brookes University. Prior to joining Design Engine, James gained professional experience working with BDP on BSF school projects in London and Poole, He has also spent time working in Ghana, West Africa, designing High End Residential and Hospitality projects.
Whilst working at Design Engine, James has worked on West Downs Campus development for the University of Winchester, during the early stages of the design. Another major role James has played is in the detailed design of the refurbishment of a grade II* at Prince’s Mead School in Kings Worthy, Hampshire.
James has assisted on many other projects in the office in a support role producing visuals, reports, studies and models. James has been responsible for researching and and implementing 3D print hardware and software to the Studio. In doing this, James has used the print process to assist many projects across the office use the fast and innovative spatial prototyping tool to great effect.
