Lucy joined Design Engine in the summer of 2023 after completing a BA Hons in Architecture with First Class Honours at the Oxford School of Architecture, Oxford Brookes. In her second year of study, Lucy was awarded the Riach Architects Prize for best development in sustainability in her project, which involved an intricate regeneration of a warehouse space specifically designed to accommodate all living beings in the area to enhance biodiversity.
In her final year, she explored discussion spaces and the need for political conversation space in Blackpool, England. She designed a retrofit scheme for an old building by introducing Passivhaus standards to the external skin, and sustainable materiality in the redesign of the interior. Lucy enjoyed researching and working to adapt the building to follow standards, whilst creating multi-use spaces designed for discussion through various quick model making and sketching.
