Tamsin Thomas

Senior Associate

Tamsin studied Architecture at The University of Cambridge and Oxford Brookes University, qualifying as an architect in 2002.

Tamsin has led numerous projects from conception to completion, with particular interests in Education, Community and Historic building projects, as well as playing a crucial role in the management of architectural studios as a member of Senior Management teams.

Since joining DE in 2008 her projects have ranged from the refurbishment of and extension to a University Chapel, to projects for schools in both the public and independent sector in the UK and abroad, which have been the result of extensive processes of Client briefing, translating the brief into proposals and delivering built projects.

As Senior Associate on the Senior Management Team, she is involved in practice-wide management, strategy and policies, running large teams, resourcing and mentoring.   Tamsin heads up the training and outreach programme, running workshops and talks at careers events for local schools.

Prior to joining Design Engine, Tamsin was an Associate at Alec French Architects in Bristol, a Project Architect at Buckley Gray Yeoman Architects in London and an Architect in a Specialist Conservation practice, as well as working in many other architectural studios and as a Studio Tutor at the University of Bath.
