Planning consent received for our private housing scheme in Reynoldston, South Wales

1 August 2016

Our scheme for a small development of private housing in Reynoldston on the Gower Peninsula, South Wales, has received planning consent. The scheme will deliver a new home for our clients alongside three further properties, taking maximum benefit from the site’s unique position with stunning long-distance coastal views. The concept design for the form of our proposed dwellings consists of a strong stone base which ‘locks’ the built form into its landscape, layers of accommodation in timber and white render which bring sculptural form and define volumes within the dwelling and a separate gabled wrapping element which brings rhythm to the overall composition of the ‘cluster’ of new dwellings on the site. The design seeks to find appropriate materials which take into account local typology, indigenousness and the level of exposure to the elements that this part of the country can experience.
