Thames Pedestrian & Cycle Bridge in Reading wins a commendation at the Civic Trust Awards

The new Thames Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge, crossing the river at Caversham, Reading, was presented with a 2016 Civic Trust Awards Commendation by architect and broadcaster George Clarke at a ceremony at the Globe Theatre in London on Friday 4th March. Commendations are only given to projects that make a significant contribution to the quality and appearance of the built environment and which demonstrate a good standard of architecture or design, sustainability, universal design and provide a positive social, cultural, environmental or economic benefit to the local community.

Conceived by Design Engine in collaboration with engineers Peter Brett Associates, the 120-metre cable stay bridge was officially opened in September 2015 and plays a vital role in the connectivity of Reading.
